I really like Sennah Tate's writing style, her narrative voice really speaks to me. I adore the way she creates drool-worthy Alpha males and includes vulnerability into them! Creating a huge werebear in Callan, he's tough, masculine, possessive concerning Ashley - yet his lip quivers and his insides turn to jelly at the thought of her refusing him. Now that is sigh-worthy! Many writer's create dominate Alpha's and they are awe inspiring and drool-worthy in their own rights, but there is something even more endearing when that muscular manly-man can be reduced to his most sensitive self, for the love and because of the love, of his woman. And Tate creates that type of male character that makes this reader want to swoon.This book is a stand alone that does refer to things that happened in the first book. Not to worry, Tate has you covered by giving a quick recap of the most pertinent information, so a reader that hasn't read the first book will not feel totally lost. Protagonist Ashley was an adorable character that this reader felt almost instant empathy towards and with; she's actually a fairly tough chick that is surprised by some of her new found self-doubts, yet intelligent enough to see the adoring Callen not only wants her to be strong but actually helps her be stronger simply because he believes in her.
Just like in the first book, the reader should not expect every single question to be answered by books end; this book gives clues and is continuing to lay the groundwork necessary, giving readers more pieces to the bigger puzzle that concerns the town of Palm Haven. Also similar to book one, this reader found a few mis-used words that were spelled correctly but not used the way they were meant to be... an example that comes immediately to mind was a sentence where something "such as this" was actually written as "suck as this", it was giggle-worthy but did toss me out of the world briefly. The story is fairly fast paced, faster than the first book, in this readers opinion, yet is a completely satisfying read that leaves one wanting more. So, I'm ending this review and heading back to Palm Haven and book three! Oh yeah, I recommend this book!

I can tell this story leaves u hanging for more I loved the suspense on finding out more lol got me pressing the buy button before I can think.
The storyline follows the 1st book of the series. These are very short stories so it only takes a couple of hours to read.
The actions between the characters involved is tense and makes you want to continue reading so you can see what happens can't wait for the 3rd book this January already put my order in for it
Ashley is a witch; Callan is a bear shifter. Her coven and his clan forbid them to be together. The head of her coven is trying to cause a war between the various groups, and more importantly, is out to get Ashley. What happens next? You'll need to read this book to find out if a war starts or if Ashley and Callan fall in love. Enjoy!

Callan Fredricks a bear shifter saves Ashley Montgomery a white witch from being hurt on a construction site he is working at, Callan feels Ashley is his mate but shifters and witches are mortal enemies. But there is trouble coming and it is directed at Ashley can Callan keep her safe and what is going on? I was given a copy for an honest review barwatts@telus.net
This is the second story in the Palm Haven Shifters series. Ashley is a young witch charged with helping a new Guardian of the ley line. Something is really not right here. Sage the head and not truly white witch has an agenda. Why does she wish to start a war between shifters and witches? Callan has met his mate in Ashley unknowing that she is a witch. He is bound and determined to save Ashley and bring them together. Hopefully Ashley will fall into line. I give this must read 5 stars.
Once again the Ley Lines of Palm Haven are at stake. Ashley a witch and one who has been trying to help Sarah harness and control her powers at the Gurardian of the Ley lines, meets her match when bear shifter Callan saves her from an accident on the Coven House construction site.
Since I am still reading this one I have to say it is a good story so far and I expect it will continue to be so. While I wish the author hurried the plot along a bit faster over all it's a pretty good and interesting story and concept. I think you will like it too.
